In order to beat the odds, you must assure yourself that the opponent has also only seven cards just like you. It then becomes a game of logic and brow beating. Everyone understands what does logic mean in matter of card and poker. It is systematic study of the form of arguments that a set of seven cards relay to your mind. The brow beating is also vital. All around the table everybody is watching each other; the expression in the eyes, the twitching of lips, the breathing frequency revealed by the nostrils and the firmness of hands that hold the cards. Do not let your ears divulge anything too.
You have to assess the
chances of forming both the hands winning with the available seven cards that
you hold. First of all, pay full attention to the two-card hand. The best you can do is to make the pair. If
not possible, go for a high ranking two-card hand. Of course, such high ranking
two-card low would be inferior to the
five-card hand
You have to go into
some mathematical logic. An ace-high hand has a wining chance of over 60%. Ace
and King two-card gives you 65% chance. A king-queen high hand has a winning
chance of 51%.The queen-jack combination has 30% chances to beat the dealer.
You would be surprised to know that a pair of 9 and 9 may cross over 90%
probability of wining.
The five-card high
hand could be little tricky but not for an experienced one. For the starter, it
is best that, he does some home work with handbooks before coming to the table.
The Queen-Queen pair gives you a 50-50 chance while 5-5 pair lowers the odds to
10%. If the high hand has two pairs to go then the probability rises to 75%. A straight
gives you the best chance to win. Even a six-high has the capability of
achieving over 90%.
In this game of
poker, you have to be little miser with the high hand settings and give more
importance to the “small is beautiful” that is the low hand. The aim and
objective should be to maximize each hand together.
